INKAS, the Canadian armored vehicle specialist who has transitioned from a business model based on contracts with corporations and law enforcement organizations to one incorporating consumer sales, revealed a new full-size luxury sedan for the uneasy VIP: a Mercedes S-Class that’s been given a sheath of ballistic protection.

The modifications carried out to the S580 4MATIC include run-flat tires and, of course, bulletproof glass; the sedan’s protection level slots at B6, which means the car can handle a double grenade blast as well as sustained Kalashnikov fire and keep right on going. INKAS options include air filtration, to keep out pesky microorganisms and poisons too, as well as night vision capability. A smokescreen is also available.

The S-Class is but one of the available specialized-customized models in the INKAS catalog. Past and present vehicles given the firm’s singular treatments include the Bentley Bentayga, the Mercedes-AMG G63 Limo, the terrifying-looking Ford F-550-based ‘Sentry Civilian’ and, most recently, the BMW X7. Most have been presented with B6-level protection.
