Back in early 2020, Hockey hotshot Ilya Kovalchuk bought into the Beverly Hills lifestyle by slapping down $11.2 million for a 2018-built modern-style. At the time, he’d been trying to sell his chateau in New Jersey for a little less than a year.
This winter, the three-level mansion in the Garden State bedroom community of Alpine — a stone’s throw from the Hudson — returned yet again to the open market. The 22,000 sq. ft. house is now listed with an asking price of $14.995 million, down about a mil from its spring 2020 listing.
The custom-built house was completed in 2018. A towering stone-clad residential leviathan, the house contains eight bedrooms and thirteen baths. Materials are of the spare-no-expense variety, and include slate tiles for the roof; the amenities list is similarly impressive, and includes a home theater, a pair of indoor swimming pools, a wine room, a game room, and a gym.
