About five years ago, a prank put the Los Angeles-area compound of Aubrey Graham — known to legions of fans by his middle name, Drake — on the open market. The property popped up briefly on Zillow, and came down again after a short time.
This winter, the compound, which has been titled ‘Yolo’, appeared on the open market for real. It is priced at $14.8 million. The seven-bedroom, nine-bath estate comes with 12,500 sq. ft. of interior living space, and a long list of specialty rooms, amenities, and recreational features.
The main house is a Tudor-inspired structure. Interior details include exposed support posts and beams, exposed ceiling trussing, figured stone fireplaces, and hardwood paneling. There are at least three bars on the property—including one in the master suite, which measures in at 2,000 sq. ft. — as well as a spa bath, a huge theater with a coffered ceiling and stadium seating for 25 guests, and a wine cellar.
As the estate’s 3.11 acres roll on, they feature equestrian facilities with stables and an area, a basketball court, a volleyball court, statures, gardens, water features, foot paths, footbridges and, somewhere, a mechanical bull. For less strenuous riding, equestrian trails may be accessed from the property.
The property’s large pool complex deserves a paragraph of its own. The design incorporates a grotto with waterfalls, a swim-up bar, and an 80-foot waterslide. There are televisions everywhere on the fringes of this primary and watery amenity…but why?
Drake has sold over 170 million records worldwide. He’s released six studio albums; all reached the number one position on the Billboard 200 chart.
