The custom-built Indiana slice of heaven owned by mainly retired professional competitive race car driver and Stewart-Haas Racing team owner Tony Stewart appeared on the open market this month.

The woodsy property outside Columbus is known as Hidden Hollow Ranch. It is priced at $30 million on the nose, and if it sells at ask or within the ballpark it might just set a residential real estate sales record for the state.

The mansion is something of an overgrown lodge, with log and post and beam architecture. It measures 19,714 sq. ft. inside, with six bedrooms and ten baths among its rooms. Interiors are dominated by wood and natural stone, with walls, ceilings, floors and accents in earthy beige tones.

Highlights of the house include the kitchen, which features an island inset with a cooking surface and an overhead vent hood in weathered bronze finish and, in one of the home’s more colorful moments, a unique stove and counter backsplash.

Amenities inside this house include a lounge with an ornate example of interior landscaping — it incorporates a koi pond and a massive aquarium — as well as an office and an entertainment complex with a saloon, golf simulator and bowling alley.

But the property’s 415 acres are perhaps the most attractive amenity on the estate. It includes a stocked lake and the wildlife-rich forest that is the home’s setting.
