Scottish-born actor Kevin McKidd is the current owner of an earthy, 1986-built contemporary in Los Angeles’ Fryman Canyon area. McKidd, a Gray’s Anatomy cast member — and, frequently, episode director as well — is looking for $5.15 million to pass the eminently livable little estate on to a new resident.
The house has a lot to offer the buyer with tastes that lean toward the esoteric. White-painted brick and a timber-clad façade sketch the exterior, with a leisurely, curving outdoor staircase rising to the upper-level entry that accommodates the hillside build. In back, the house opens to a pleasantly and luxuriously ramshackle .38 acres of grounds via plentiful casement windows and sets of French doors.
The home’s interiors are relaxed and peculiarly buoyant. Highlights include the dayroom with built-in bench seat, the game room with wet bar, and the master bedroom, a space made very airy indeed by way of the sets of French doors opening to its Juliet balcony and private deck.
The outdoor living area is a secluded and laid-back gem, packing in a catwalk and piazza, a kitchen and lounge area with fire features, a saltwater pool and a pool house that brings the bedroom and bathroom count to five and five.
