The Macan family is growing. This month, Porsche unveiled a new variant in the SUV lineup, the 2023 Macan T.
The twist on the capable suburban adventurer is a likely best seller for the company. The T suffix indicates Touring, a kit that has formerly been the territory of the 911. The Macan T’s 2.0L four-cylinder turbo is tuned for 261 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque—the same as the base Macan. The SUV can sprint to 60 MPH in 5.8 seconds.
The handling-optimized trim level gives the Macan a lot of appeal for the entry-level Porsche buyer. Included in it are two of the most appealing performance options currently offered by Porsche: the Sport Chrono package and PASM, or Porsche Active Suspension Management. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, specially tuned for the variant, may be optioned.
The Macan T’s exterior can be had in Agate Grey Metallic, which distinguishes it from the rest of the Macan lineup and contrasts well with the gloss black trim. It also comes with 20-inch wheels in Dark Titanium, another sympathetic and atmospheric tone. Interiors are given a dramatic black treatment, as well as heated seats and steering wheel.
Pricing for the 2023 Porsche Macan T hasn’t been announced, but it is expected to be below that of the S model, which currently starts at $66,750. Porsche will begin accepting orders for the new SUV in the spring.
