Green tones are soothing, as any interior designer or industrial psychologist can tell you. When the green comes in the form of a rim of emeralds surrounding a Bulgari watch face, it might be considered doubly so.
Bulgari calls this watch the Octo Roma Emerald Grand Sonnerie. The timepiece is a one-example venture, and it is priced at a little less than $2 million. The emeralds adorning the face are supported by an array of diamonds — the carat total is 30 — but the watch’s consolations aren’t only visual; it is equipped with a Westminster chime, a bit of charm which is also soothing, although for reasons that concern the comforts of the traditional rather than those of extensive liquidity.
The tourbillon in the Octo Roma Emerald Grande Sonnerie controls the chime and winding mechanism. The white gold case is 15.42mm thick, while an emerald-green alligator strap completes the look.
