A one-solution answer for the photographer with aspirations for video as well as still shooting, the new Canon EOS hybrid model packs a huge amount of versatility into a lightweight and reasonably priced package.
Canon calls the new shooter the EOS R5 C, and getting top billing among its features is its 8K/60p RAW video capability; a cooling-fan allows for non-stop shooting. The model’s full-frame sensor has 45mp capability, and is paired with a DIGIC X processor, allowing for 60 feet-per-second video recording. The EOS R5 C also features 2K and 4K oversampling.
When shooting stills, the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II-capable EOS R5 C can capture 20 frames per second using 1,053 autofocus zones. Supporting features include five-axis image stabilization with eye, face or head detection, Animal Detection AF, and vehicle subject detection. Its connectivity capabilities include 5GHz and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for fast and easy image transfer. It is designed with dual-fisheye compatibility.
Canon has targeted the EOS R5 C at journalists, filmmakers, and serious enthusiasts. It is priced at $4499.00.
