Kenny Chesney Takes $11.5M for Refined Tennessee Compound

Country music hitmaker Kenny Chesney saw his four-bedroom estate outside Music City into the Tennessee sunset this winter. Chesney initially listed the place for $14 million in August of last year. The property ultimately closed at $11.5 million.

The estate is located in Franklin, an upscale bedroom community north of Nashville that has drawn many other Music City luminaries to its bucolic seclusion. Miley Cyrus, Alan Jackson, and Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have owned homes amid the rolling green hills of Franklin.

Many of these estates have been sprawling trophy properties, and Chesney’s now-former residence certainly fits that description. The stone-clad 12,599 sq. ft. European-inflected mansion sits on well over 50 acres of land. Its architectural flourishes include a porte-cochere and tower.

Of the interior spaces, the star of the show is the cathedral-like great room. This cavernous space features a vaulted ceiling with exposed trussing that is at least two stories high, as well as a line of clerestory windows and, down on ground level, multiple sets of French doors and a groin-vaulted arcade hallway.

Recreational specialty spaces include billiards and fitness rooms, and a theater. A courtyard, an outdoor kitchen, a pool, a motor court, a loggia and a sprawling lawn complete a quick look at an extraordinary Nashville-area estate.

Chesney’s been on a tear since the early 2000s; he’s released 14 albums in the past two decades, and all save one topped the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Most of them topped the Billboard 200 chart too; the impressive feat makes Chesney one of the most successful crossover acts in country music. Chesney’s most recent studio release, 2020’s Here and Now, reached the number one position on both aforementioned charts. He hits the road soon for the Here and Now Tour. The show kicks off in April.
