Actress Sandra Bullock has acquired or sold more than one notable property in the last few years. Gone from her portfolio is the character-rich 1942-built cottage in Hollywood Hills, and departed is the Tybee Island, Georgia, home that provided the Academy Award-winner and her family with a secluded getaway.
The spring of last year did find her buying a splendid little house in Beverly Hills designed in the style of a French countryside cottage, but her most recent real estate adventure again puts her in the position of seller. The property in question is one of her condos in Sierra Towers, a stubbornly relevant high-rise residential building a stone’s throw from Sunset Boulevard.
Bullock listed the condo for sale at $4.495 million in the late fall of last year. She came close to realizing the asking price; the 1,759 sq. ft. two-bed unit closed earlier this month at $4.4 million.
The unit features a main living area with an understated design style; floor-to-ceiling kitchen cabinetry, off-white tile and a little hardwood paneling are used to define this primary space. But the building’s signature glass and the views and sense of space it engenders is the real story.
The main bedroom features corner glass, and a sliding door than allows access to the balcony…those suffering from vertigo, proceed with caution.
Bullock’s upcoming films include The Lost City, with Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, and Oscar Nunez, and Bullet Train, with Brad Pitt and Joey King.
