The Paul Williams-designed Los Angeles home of producer Joe Roth saw a relist-with-price-snip this winter. The Holmby Hills estate is now priced at $44 million; Roth initially listed it in the spring of last year with a $48 million ask.

The estate measures 1.32 acres in all, with 13,638 sq. ft. of interiors, seven bedrooms and ten baths between the main house and guest cottage. A substantial renovation has recently been carried out, and it is most conspicuous in the floors, kitchen, and baths; original details include coffered ceilings, fireplaces, and some of the tile.

A few of the more striking flourishes of this house include the staircase, a graceful design that gets additional high marks for understated elegance, and the black-and-white kitchen floor, a classic details which, in this case, is more playful than ironic.

The master bedroom features a fireplace, and French doors opening to a balcony overlooking the back yard pool area. As for the master bath—it’s been the recipient of a shimmering, glitzy overhaul, with metallic surfaces and a dome ceiling flourish.

Among the additional amenities on this estate: a spa, a fitness room, a sunken tennis court, and a splendid wedge of lawn protected by a neatly groomed hedge wall.

Roth’s upcoming projects include Hustle, with Adam Sandler, Queen Latifah, and Robert Duvall; Peter Pan & Wendy, with Jim Gaffigan and Jude Law; The Gray Man, with Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Wagner Moura, Regé-Jean Page, and Billy Bob Thornton; and The School of Good and Evil, with Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, and Rachel Bloom.
