The Los Angeles residence of late Jeopardy host Alex Trebek reached the open market recently with an asking price of $6.995 million. Trebek — a multiple Emmy Award-winner and the figurehead of the popular trivia-based game show for over three decades — acquired the secluded property in 1991, according to public records.
The main house is a 1923-built Mediterranean-style with four bedrooms; it is accompanied by a two-level guest house that adds another bedroom to the property total.
The interiors of the main house are nearly as lush as the landscaping; upon entering the home, one is welcomed by stone tile floors, ornamental columns, and a pair of curving staircases that rise to a second-floor living area capped with a singular dome ceiling inset with clerestories and decorated with stenciled flora.
Amenities include a voluptuous theater with stadium seating and a cathedral ceiling with exposed trussing, a library with a stone fireplace, and a lounge with a full-sized wet bar.
The houses sit on 1.46 acres in the Fryman Estates area. Arranged around them are a tennis court, gardens, a pool, a tiled spa with a brick surround, and various raised plant beds.
