Noted television director James Burrows bought into the La Quinta lifestyle this winter. According to Dirt, the Cheers creator paid $3.25 million for a .34-acre, 5,280 sq ft. slice of golf heaven at the planned resort city.
The four-bedroom property is located in the Hideaway, a golf club community that spans 600 acres. It features a lavish indoor/outdoor lifestyle — the exterior walls in the rear of the home are retractable or of fold-away glass — that culminates in a patio with a pool and fire pit overlooking the club’s fairway.
On the street side, the house begins with a series of wood gates — one for foot traffic, two for garage bays — that give way to a courtyard and, eventually, interiors that feature stone tile floors, vaulted raw ceilings, and decorative wrought iron or bronze. Amenities include a wet bar and a ground-level master with a gas fireplace and pocketing glass that opens to a private patio.
