Maison Vuitton has a new watch for the techie clothes horse and accessories maven: the newest Tambour Horizon.
It’s been about two years since we had a look at the last Tambour Horizon, the second-gen that used the available technology to best effect for a fashion house. In essence, a smartwatch has many faces, and for Vuitton it is something of a chameleon.
The new Tambour Horizon, called ‘Light Up’, features 24 LEDs behind its sapphire crystal, and can be customized ad infinitum. Vuitton designed the operating system, too, so it should be as entertaining as it is informative…and just hip enough to be genuinely cool. And there’s a heart rate monitor, microphone, accelerometer, gyroscope and ambient light sensor on board.
The Tambour Horizon Light Up features a stainless case, a stainless crown, and black polished stainless back. Monograms, logos, and flowers abound. The watch is finished with a Monogram Eclipse canvas strap fitted with a stainless Ardillon buckle; but it, too, can be changed at will.
The Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon Light Up starts at $3,450. Analog entries in the Tambour family include the $459K Tambour Carpe Diem Minute Repeater and the $322K Tambour Curve Flying Tourbillon Poinçon de Geneve.
