MLB pitcher Mike Clevinger is the new owner of a custom-built San Diego residence. The Padres team member tossed down $2.575 million for the home, which features very fine ocean and Mission Bay views.

The house was completed in 2010. A detached guest house is included in the lifestyle, and end to end there are six bedrooms and five baths across 4,196 sq. ft. of interior space on the property.

Very much a California beach house, the main house is inspired by Cape Cod and Monterey Colonial designs, and has some Craftsman design elements to boast of. Its covered entrance is enhanced with stacked stone-supported posts, exposed rafter tails and a Dutch front door painted a soft shade of blue that contrasts with the gray-blue paint adorning the exterior.

Inside, the home is as cottagey as it is contemporary. The shared living spaces are relaxed and inviting, while the bedrooms variously feature glass sliders, a window seat, and balcony access. The primary outdoor living area is a well-designed alcove: an elevated covered spot for dining and lounging, with a BBQ station at ground level and a service window opening the space to a kitchen snack bar.
