In the ‘tween-holiday period of late 2021, reality television fixture and erstwhile professional football player Colton Underwood accepted an offer of $1.35 million his Colorado getaway, and the four-bedroom house moved into pending status and presumably changed hands.
Underwood didn’t waste too much time house-hunting anew, however, and in the last few days of 2021 took ownership of this 3,378 sq. ft. traditional in the Los Angeles area. The house is another four-bedroom, and it sits on a .31-acre lot.
The home dates to the middle of the 1970s, with architecture that hints at a pleasingly eccentric interior layout. Its façade is upscale suburban and very inviting, with a front walk flanked by landscaping — including a water feature — and ending with a recessed double-door entry.
Details of the shared spaces include a semi-vaulted beamed ceiling, newer hardwood, and plenty of glass, including French doors offering access to the patio. Among the individual rooms, the kitchen is a highlight; it features a center island, French doors, and pea green hexagonal tile backsplashes that may’ve had their day.
As for the patio, it’s a fairly large one, with a fire pit transitioning to a pool and spa, and a pleasingly forest-like array of plantings sprouting out of a demarcation retaining wall.
