Los Angeles Clippers team member Ivica Zubac took time out from regular play last season to close on a newly rebuilt modern farmhouse in Encino. The center-playing pro paid $4.775 million for the residence, which currently bears no resemblance to its former Mediterranean-inspired self.

According to public records and previous listings, the 5,000 square-footer last changed hands in May of last year, when it fetched $2.35 million. A fairly snappy construction apparently followed, with Zubac signing on the line to take ownership of the new five-bedroom around the middle of December.

As it currently stands, the house sports the varied roofline of the style, with timber barn doors for the three-bay garage adding an overt rusticity from the street. Inside, natural-shade hardwood is used for floors, trim, staircase and doors, while the other members of the contemporary farmhouse rogues’ gallery are in attendance: monolithic fireplace accent wall, competing patterns, built-ins, retractable glass.

The backyard sports a nicely engineered secluded feel, with a pool and spa as the centerpiece, a BBQ bar, and a patio for lazy afternoons and bright morning coffee. Additional treats include a theater with stadium seating.
