Riverdale cast member Cole Sprouse is the new owner of a 1949-built modern-style in Los Angeles. According to Dirt, Sprouse purchased the property, which has come to be known as the Millard Kaufman residence, for about $3 million.
The history of this house makes for interesting reading; it was designed by Alexander Ban and Josef Van Der Kar; Richard Neutra contributed the master suite a few years after construction completed. If you include the lot design, you have to mention Garrett Eckbo, the noted landscape designer.
Perched in a quiet corner of Hollywood Hills West, the property offers both city views and an escapist atmosphere. Highlights of the home’s interior spaces include the master bedroom, where plentiful glass virtually erases the border between interior and exterior, and the kitchen and living room, where the openness of upper-level clerestories and skylights is framed by exposed rafters.
The outdoor living space is a gem; the pool isn’t necessarily lagoon-style, but the landscaping creates that seclusion that suggests a discovered glade of lush flora and water.
Sprouse’s upcoming projects include HBO Max’s sci-fi rom-com Moonshot, with Zach Braff.
