Music world legend Stevie Wonder made a purchase this year that added 11 bedrooms and more than 22,000 sq. ft. to his lifestyle and/or investment portfolio. The property changed hands in the middle of December, closing at $13.85 million; it appears to be tenant-occupied for the time being.

The Mediterranean villa occupies a .58-acre lot in Bel Air Crest. It went up in 2009, and features a stucco exterior painted Tuscan yellow alternating with stone-clad sections, a red tile roof, and an arched entry. The hillside build features two levels up top, extending into three in the rear of the property.

The home’s interiors begin with a cavernous step-down foyer with stone tile floors and a staircase with stone treads and risers; like other sections of the home, it is illuminated by skylights. An office with a fireplace and a dining room can be spotted off the foyer, while the living room and kitchen — which sports a massive center island — are situated beyond an arched entry in a dividing wall, where retractable glass opens up the common area to a terrace and the pool area which is accessed by exterior staircases.

On the upper level, a wood-paneled hall leads to the master suite, which features a private covered veranda and a private sitting room with a fireplace. Other diversions include a game room, a full-size L-shaped bar, and an elevator.

Wonder has sold over 100 million records worldwide. He scored his first number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963, at the tender age of 13, with the hit “Fingertips.” He’s taken home 25 Grammy awards—a record for a solo artist. He’s also won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for the hit “I Just Called to Say I love You,” which he created for the 1984 romantic comedy The Woman in Red.
