Actor and director Jordan Peele — who helmed and also penned the unnerving 2017 hit Get Out — is the new owner of a charming 1938-built Colonial in Los Angeles. Peele paid $2.7 million to call the spot in Los Feliz his own; the closing price represented a nearly 30% premium over the property’s asking price.
The hilltop location of the property—near Griffith Park and the Greek Theater, and offering a panoramic view—helped fuel the bidding war, no doubt. But the three-bed, three-bath home’s appealing mix of period charm and updates tell the real story.
Older listing photos present the interiors as a blank canvas of sorts, with warm neutral and off-white tones, casement windows opening onto the landscaping and city views, and plank and parquet floors. The kitchen features quartz and stainless, and the living room fireplace is purely functional.
Amenities include a wood-clad lounge space with a U-shaped wet bar and, best of all, a flagstone terrace hidden amid greenery that overlooks the city.
Peele’s upcoming projects include Wendell and Wild, with Keegan-Michael Key. He’s also directing and producing Nope, a horror film he wrote.
