The Polaris Slingshot has been revealed for the upcoming model year. The unusual vehicle—it’s like a three-wheel, two-seat roadster—will be offered with a new trim package.
Up until the current model year, the Polaris Slingshot was available in four trim variants: S, SL, and R (excluding the graphics-heavy R Limited Edition that came and went for 2021). The new trim level is SLR, and it slots above SL.
The Slingshot SLR brings the top-tier Slingshot R’s two-tone paint and full-body graphics into the picture, and also gets the same 203 horsepower and 144 pound-feet of torque as the R trim Slingshot out of the 2.0L 4-cylinder that is common to all variants in the range. By comparison, the SL and S trims wring 178 HP and 120 lb-ft. from the engine.
Other features of the Slingshot SLR include Signature Accent Lighting, A Kenda 305 tire on the rear wheel, and a tinted windscreen. The 2022 Slingshot SLR base stickers at $28,899, about $2,900 above the SL. The entry-level Slingshot S is priced from $19,999, while the top-dog R is priced from $32,499.
