Having seen the last of the homes that made up her New York compound into the rearview, comedian and actress Rosie O’Donnell signed on the dotted line once more to take ownership of this 2019-built, 4,112 sq. ft., five-bedroom home in Los Angeles. O’Donnell shelled out $4.6 million for the property.
The Beverlywood house’s exterior puts a fairly unique spin on the modern farmhouse design. Its façade is defined by vertical clapboard, and the architecture has the industrial undercurrents of the style, but the windows suggest craftsman, and the upper level has been clad in cedar to contrast with the dark cool paint tone that dresses the lower section. The front porch is capped with a pergola.
A living and dining area leads off the interiors, with a fireplace and display wine storage, plank hardwood floors, cabinetry, and some niche shelving; plank is used to finish the fireplace accent wall and dining room ceiling, setting up the pattern variation and line intersection that is frequently employed for ornament in this style of home. The kitchen features Thermador and caesarstone.
A full-home water filtration system, Lutron shades, an installed Tesla charger, security system and whole-house audio are among this home’s bells and whistles. The backyard is larger than expected, with olive trees and flowering plants highlights of the landscaping.
