Triumph’s versatile, large-capacity Tiger 1200 lineup got a dust-up for 2022. Updates to the adventure bikes include a design revision that brings the powertrain into better view…as well as an A-to-Z redesign of the powertrain components themselves with an eye toward efficiency.
The Tiger 1200s capabilities put it at the top of a short list for tourers who want a bike geared to gravel or pavement, but also one that can do either one at a lark. The lineup’s variations place emphasis generally on one or the other for 2022, though; for riders spending most of their time on asphalt the GT fits the bill, while the Rally is designed for softer terrain. The Tiger 1200’s three-cylinder puts out 147 horsepower and 95 pound-feet of torque.
For 2022 the Tiger 1200 Explorer, the top model for off-road, comes with an even larger fuel tank — 7.9 gallons versus the standard 5.28 that was the only tank available in the outgoing model — while the Pro comes standard with the smaller tank but can be optioned up. Other features for 2022 include seven-inch touchscreen with joystick navigation.
Pricing for the 2022 Tiger 1200 lineup begins at $19,100. The Tiger 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer are priced at $21,400 and $23,100, respectively, while the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer carry price tags of $22,500 and $24,200.
