Actor and avid bicyclist Matthew Modine sold this Los Angeles-area coastal property this autumn. Modine had owned the Venice getaway for nearly a decade when it changed hands in the second week of November. He quietly accepted an offer of $4 million to pass it on to a new owner, according to Dirt and public records.
The 2003-built modern is accented with a fair degree of industrial influence, and sports exterior and interior surfaces in a nearly metallic thunderhead gray. A single-stringer staircase in steel and an exterior catwalk are the prominent factory-tinged design elements. A bit of hardwood sneaks in, used for staircase treads and accents, but the polished concrete floors and ceilings and the plentiful glass mainly express the living style.
According to available information, the house contains two bedroom suites in its 1,713 sq. ft. of interior living space. The accommodations are linked by the home’s bridge, with the courtyard garden and fireplace below.
Modine’s upcoming projects include Retribution, with Liam Neeson, and The Martini Shot, with John Cleese.
