‘Spider-Man’ Director Marc Webb Gets His $5M Ask for L.A. Home

Feature director Marc Webb listed this stylized 1920s bit of ye olde L.A. last June. Webb wanted $5 million for the 1920s Los Feliz property, and that’s what he got, or very nearly; Webb recently accepted an offer that came in a few bucks short of asking.

The Moorish Revival architecture of the home’s exterior has been muted somewhat by a white treatment; previously, the house had been dressed in a coat of desert yellow, with turquoise accents, which enhanced its period design style. The interiors have been similarly renovated, with the emphasis on the bright, uncluttered, vaguely Eastern-inspired contemporary style. A great deal of care was taken selecting colors and fixtures.

But the back of the home is where the magic is evident. Making ideal use of the hillside gradient, the house breaks into three floors, with a castle-like series of outdoor passages, staircases, awnings, terraces and patios that packs in an upper-level lap pool and staggered planters.

webb’s upcoming projects include a live-action adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, with Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler.
