Former treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin finally sold his Manhattan residence, accepting an offer of $22.5 million for a property that initially reached the open market in 2018 with an asking price about 50% higher.
The co-op unit in Lenox Hill nearly sold earlier this year. In May, the twelve-room duplex at 740 Park Avenue had apparently found a buyer at $27.75 million, or thereabouts; it was removed from the market in preparation for closing. But this month the five-bedroom, seven-bath home closed definitively.
The building was designed by Rosario Candela and Arthur Loomis Harmon, and features a limestone exterior. The unit in question features a library with a black marble fireplace mantel and hardwood wainscoting, a curving staircase with stone treads, and a living room that spans 35 feet in length. The residence also features staff quarters.
