Saturday Night Live writer and comedian Colin Jost put his residence in Manhattan up for sale this month with an asking price of $2.5 million. The two-and-two co-op is located in a West Village townhouse that dates to the middle of the 19th century and was converted to apartments in the 1920s.
A duplex unit, the residence boasts a spiral staircase, an ideal companion to the home’s plentiful exposed original brick and antiqued doors. On the lower level is access to a little brick courtyard, lending cohesion to the unit’s warm period living style while increasing the living area and offering warm-weather outdoor lounge space.
The kitchen is a galley, with canary yellow cabinetry that serves as contrasting ballast for the brick wall that hems it in. The rest of the unit is as comfortably cozy, and respectful of the building and neighborhood as it is pleasing to the more literate eye for interior design.
Jost tied the knot to fellow actor Scarlett Johansson last year. The couple welcomed a son this summer.
