In the twenty years since the first appearance of TechArt’s tuned 911, the GTstreet, the extroverted ride’s power has steadily increased. Five years ago, a version of the GTstreet R offered excitable drivers 640 horsepower and 649 pound-feet of torque to play with. The most recent version finds the flat-six engine tuned to 789 HP and 701 lb-ft of torque, and is limited to 87 examples. And a Cabriolet is being offered.
Larger turbochargers, a stainless sport exhaust and tweaked software are largely behind the power boost. The GTstreet R also comes with a carbon fiber aeropackage that includes; an apron, hood and spoiler in front; rear apron and diffuser; and side skirts, intakes and wheel aero discs.
The Cabriolet package includes TechArt’s Formula VI wheels, coated calipers, and carbon or forged carbon components including side air blades, bumpers, and engine air intake cover…but no rear wing. The model’s interior options include a custom-made steering wheel, a variety of leathers and Alcantara with custom piping, stitching and perforations. A Clubsport interior is expected to be available in the final months of this year.
Pricing for the Cabriolet GTstreet R package starts around $73K at the current rate of exchange.
