Sylvester Stallone’s longtime Los Angeles estate is back for another chapter, with a price cut. The Richard Landry-designed mansion is now priced at $80 million; it was initially listed by Sly with an asking price of $110 million when it hit the market early this year. It was subsequently reduced to $85 million.
The gated property occupies a plateau with canyon views. The grounds total 3.5 acres, with large swaths of lawn peppered by statuary and outdoor amenities: a large pool area with a fire pit, a putting green, a guest house, and an eight-car garage with a layout that includes studio space.
The mansion features architecture that merges Italian renaissance country house elements and modern lines. From the motor court, the impression is of a towering Mediterranean manor. In back, it features a wealth of outdoor living spaces—patios, loggias and a large second-floor terrace—as well as a rotunda dayroom. A few neoclassical details, mainly columns and a portico, dress up the architecture, while lantern sconces amp up the atmospherics.
Stepping inside, the house is warm, and the high ceilings, oversize windows and French doors lend an airiness and relaxed spaciousness to the living style. Amenities inside the home include a full-sized fitness center, a screening room, a cigar room, a master with a spa bath and office, and a lounge with a full-sized wet bar.
Stallone’s upcoming projects include superhero film Samaritan. He also stars in The Expendables 4, with Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Megan Fox, and 50 Cent.
