Actor Bryan Cranston went shopping for a pied-a-terre in Manhattan late this summer; his search ended in late August with a $5.6 million closing on a co-op unit overlooking Central Park.

The two-and-two’s interior living space is spacious enough. The living style is downright ebullient by way of the bright white paint that keeps the photons bouncing about when the sun is in ascendancy, and refined as well; there’s no demonstrative high dollar veneer.

In place of such extravagant ostentation is a classic mix of mid-toned oak plank, French doors, recessed built-in shelving, fireplace, one-piece glass ceiling fixtures, black-and-white bathroom tile, and city views. The galley kitchen is a paragon of functional simplicity that will appeal to ambitious amateur chefs.

The unit’s master features plentiful closet space and a dedicated bath. Other rooms in the residence include an office and dining space and an entrance gallery.

The last time Cranston was in the real estate news, the subject at hand was the sale of a green-minded beach house in Southern California that had been titled ‘3 Palms’; that property hit the open market in February of this year with a $5 million ask, and sold in early spring for $5.5 million.
