Swiss watchmaker Jacob & Co. unveiled the latest in its line of Bugatti-themed watches this month. Like other timepieces that have emerged through the collaboration, it’s a terrifically complicated-looking bit of horological design, with Bugatti’s signature W16 engine once again represented by dual tourbillons.
This time around, the mechanical finery is nakedly visible via a sapphire case, and so Jacob & Co. calls the new watch the Twin Turbo Furious Bugatti Sapphire Crystal. It is the product of over a year of work.
There are 832 separate components employed here, culminating in a decimal repeater and mono-pusher chronograph with a clutch-like design and racing pit board inspiration. Like others in the Furious Bugatti series, the watch features a lengthy power reserve; 50 hours, in this case, with an indicator on the face reminiscent of an automotive fuel gauge.
Jacob & Co. will make only six examples of the Twin Turbo Furious Bugatti Sapphire Crystal watch. Others in the series include the Twin Turbo Furious Bugatti La Montre Noire.
