Qatar Airways Group is expanding its exclusive Executive division with a series of new acquisitions: 10 Gulfstream G700 business jets with cabin layouts customized for small party charters. The deliveries will help the division supply a demand that has surged since the first months of the health crisis, giving it a massive shot in the arm.

Qatar Executive was founded in 2009 amid the growing market for business jet travel. In 2019, shortly after Gulfstream formally announced the G700, they signed on with the firm as G700 delivery recipients; the production version of the ten new aircraft was revealed recently.

The company currently has about twenty business jets in its fleet at Doha International Airport, including several Gulfstream G650ER models. But the G700 planes will be special. As the flagship aircraft of the Qatar Executive fleet, they are designed for maximum space and comfort for a smaller number of passengers—often one or two individuals with or without support staff.

Among the customized features of the aircraft: a master suite, an expanded galley, and a series of living, working and meeting areas. The plane’s lifestyle amenities include atmospheric lighting.

The first Gulfstream G700 will be delivered to Qatar Executive in 2022.
