While late summer has found Mercedes-Benz revealing more information about its upcoming electric vehicle range, the Daimler performance division hasn’t been idle. Mercedes-AMG geared up with another EV reveal of its own, and it’s going to enchant luxury performance car buyers and possibly a few executives too.

The performance division’s newest model is the EQS 53, a high-tuned version of Mercedes-Benz’s top-tier EQS luxury sedan. The car’s powertrain can be optimized via the AMG Dynamic Plus Package to produce 751 horsepower, and its performance-specific variations on the EQS theme include optional rear-wheel steering and carbon ceramic brakes, adjusted or replaced components, and AMG-specific driving modes.

Other AMG treats in store for the model include Track Pace, an educational tool that helps fledgling track drivers hone their craft. And inside the Mercedes-AMG EQS is the much-discussed Hyperscreen dash, a broad expanse of digital flash for infotainment, navigation, and creature comfort controls.

As for range…well, Mercedes isn’t talking, not yet, although the Benz EQS reveal of earlier this summer indicated that the model can travel up to about 475 miles using WLTP cycle methodology. What we do know is that the Benz and AMG EQS sedans both come with a 107.8 kWh battery pack.
