Film director Todd Phillips sold his Los Angeles estate in August, less than two months after listing it. The Joker and Hangover director accepted a nearly $31 million offer for the property at the end of the day. The 1928-built Spanish-style had been listed at $34.5 million prior to the closing.
The 6,968 sq. ft. house was designed by famed Los Angeles-area architect Wallace Neff. Original details conspicuously retained in the carefully restored house include stenciled ceiling timber, tile and hardwood floors, fireplaces, and built-in hardwood shelving and paneling. The revision’s approach to the baths and kitchen includes many restored details, with the master bath appearing particularly evocative of the home’s vintage.
The grounds incorporate a pool, raised spa and pergola-capped arcade, as well as a greenhouse, sunken meditation pool, and gardens amid the rolling lawns and mature trees. Interior amenities include a gym and a period-style theater.
