Venerable Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina rolled out the production version of the Battista, its electric hypercar this summer, revealing still shots and video of the vehicle in an official unveiling at Monterey Car Week.
The Battista was first announced a few years ago. A 1,900-horsepower, fully electric car, the model gets its name from the firm’s founder, Battista Farina, and is built entirely in Turin. Its EV powertrain is designed around motors dedicated to each wheel, with its 6-piston carbon-ceramic brakes recycling energy for additional operating efficiency and extensive use of carbon fiber keeping weight down. As was the case with the concept, Pininfarina tells us the 0-62 time is ‘under two seconds’.
Pininfarina also brought along a Battista Anniversario edition of the model. This five-example production version features additional aerodynamic touches and detailing.
