The Pacific Palisades property Matt Damon initially listed this winter recently received a significant price chop. Damon, who has owned the home since 2015, sought $21 million in January of this year. The relist finds the seven-bedroom home asking $17.9 million.

The 13,508 sq. ft. home is situated in the Upper Rivera area of Pac Pal. Its architecture is the work of KAA Design’s Grant Kirkpatrick, and incorporates landscaping via retractable and oversized glass for a living style that appears to freely intertwine the home’s indoor living spaces and the natural elements of the landscape that frames it.

The earthy flash of the home is augmented by mahogany ceilings—the foyer gets a deep coffered treatment—glossy plank hardwood floors, and wood-framed doors and windows; it is embellished by Japanese design flourishes, including shoji-screen doors. Standout details include the staircase, the hipped ceiling in the media room, the window seat in one of the guest bedrooms, and the plentiful glass that gives a solarium-like feel to the kitchen, dayroom and family room progression.

Amenities in this house include a gym, a wet bar, an office, and a wine room; the master suites sports a spa room, always a nice touch. The outdoor living area is a meditative treat: a lanai amid the lush plantings, as well as a pool, spa, waterfall and koi pond.

Damon’s upcoming films include The Last Duel, with Ben Affleck, and Thor: Love and Thunder, with Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Jeff Goldblum, and Vin Diesel.
