In 2017, rapper and producer Big Sean purchased this Beverly Hills residence from Guns N’Roses guitarist Slash, who put down his Les Paul long enough to take $8.7 million in hand in exchange for the 10,971 sq. ft. Spanish-style. Big Sean listed the house in the late winter of this year, asking $12.495 million; in the opening days of this month he handed the home to a new owner for $11.1 million.
The seven-bedroom, eight-bath house is situated in Mulholland Estates, and went up in 2005. Its exterior evokes period L.A. Spanish Eclectics nicely, with a tile roof, stucco walls, ornamental windows, lantern sconces, and wrought-iron balconies.
Inside the home, a contemporary design style is now the rule of thumb, and with the exception of the occasional rounded arch decorating a doorway its sensibilities are 21st-century throughout. Large chunks of marble, recessed fixtures, white oak plank, and a lack of ornamentation are features of the revision that Big Sean commissioned.
A double-island kitchen, a home theater, and an outdoor living area with a loggia, a pool and spa, and a large lawn helped sell the home. Big Sean apparently dispensed with the stripper pole in the downstairs entertainment room, but kept the nightclub.
Big Sean’s last three studio albums reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart; the most recent is last year’s Detroit 2.
