Actress Ruby Rose put her midcentury home in Los Angeles behind her this summer. According to Dirt, Rose accepted an offer of $2.1 million for the 1958-built house in Sherman Oaks, which saw a considerable revision in 2017.
The 2,247 sq. ft. modern was designed by architect Frank A. Dubsky. Rose purchased it in 2017, and commissioned updates that retained the spirit of the home while bringing sustainable materials into the picture.
The home’s living room contains its visual centerpiece: the combination of the accent wall surrounding the stark modern fireplace, which is clad in gray plank, with the colorful covering finishing the structural wall behind it. The room also features a gently sloping semi-vaulted unfinished ceiling; its coat of white paint sets off the wide-plank wood floors nicely.
A modest but cozy kitchen with a bright, glassy dayroom opening via sliding glass onto the outdoor living area, a studio, and a corner master with sliding glass doors also catch the eye on a tour of this house. Outside, a prow-like deck juts out from the hillside lot, offering focus to the city views from within the green glade of the landscaping.
Earlier this year, Rose signed on to join Harvey Keitel and Emile Hirsch in the cast of the upcoming feature The Legitimate Wiseguy.
