Professional pugilist Floyd Mayweather Jr. invested heavily in South Florida this summer. Earlier this month, the fifteen-time world champ closed on this three-level waterfront modern villa in Miami Beach for $18 million. The home had been listed at $19.9 million at the time of the sale.

Hidden away in a particularly lush corner of Palm Island, the 2011-built, 5,000 sq. ft. house features 10,853 sq. ft. of interior living space, although the roof deck adds 5,000 sq. ft. to the total. The symmetrical façade is centered by a complex entryway: a double staircase, upper and lower double doors, and tropical landscaping, with a pergola poised above.

Interior details include glossy marble tile floors, a beige color scheme, tray ceilings, and wood-framed doors and windows; an indoor/outdoor lifestyle is the rule of thumb, with optional glass walls opening to the outdoor living areas. Many of the nine bedrooms feature plank hardwood floors and balcony access, and there is a large gym and a home theater in the home. Outdoor amenities include a pool, a grill with a bar, and a dock.

The acquisition comes less than a year after Mayweather sold another residence in Miami Beach. That home, a 5,200 sq. ft. modern, sits on a lot with frontage on the Intracoastal Waterway, and featured a stacked glassiness in back similar to the home Mayweather has just picked up. It changed hands for $6.3 million.

Mayweather’s no stranger to opulent properties; he previously purchased a $25.5 million home in Beverly Hills and a new build in Las Vegas for $10 million. Aside from real estate, Mayweather’s been known to splash his hard-earned cash on jets, Ferrari and Koenigsegg supercars, in addition to an $18 million watch.

Mayweather retired undefeated with a 50-0 record. His career earnings exceed $1 billion.
