Legendary Bay Area musician Carlos Santana listed his longtime residence on the Tiburon Peninsula this summer. According to public records, the guitarist has owned the property since 2002. It is currently listed with a $5.777 million ask.
The 1978-built modern sits on a prettily landscaped .87-acre lot in Tiburon. It is positioned on a hillside, and the back of the house features a huge amount of glass for taking in the views of Sausalito and, in the distance, San Francisco from the living area. A sliding glass door in the living room opens to an elevated redwood deck overlooking the extraordinary Bay Area panorama.
Beyond the home’s double-door entry is a foyer with a domed ceiling. Floors appear to be white oak, and they continue throughout the living area, a very open space that features an upper area and a main lower area divided into living room/kitchen, with the dining room separated by a partial wall. The upper living area is currently purposed as an office, and it features a fireplace.
The past few months have been a busy period of residential flux for Santana. The guitarist traded up in Hawaii, listing a home in the islands for $12.9 million and buying another for $20.5 million. He also shed his Las Vegas-area pied-a-terre recently for $2.7 million.
Santana and his band have been rocking audiences for over half a century, and they remain ever popular. Santana’s current gig, An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live, takes place at the House of Blues Las Vegas as part of a multi-year residency; the current leg lasts through the summer. The band then embarks on a nationwide tour—Santana: The Blessings and Miracles Tour—before resuming residency shows in Las Vegas for the last two months of the year. Next summer finds them hitting the road again for the Miraculous Supernatural 2022 Tour: Santana + Earth, Wind & Fire.
