Strongheart Manor, the Hamptons estate that Matt Lauer purchased from actor Richard Gere, is back on the open market this summer, but the asking price has remained stable.
The property last appeared in July of last year, when it turned up with a $44 million ask, $800K less than its initial listing in June of 2019.
Strongheart Manor encompasses 6.3 acres of idyllic waterfront land in North Haven, Long Island, with 300 feet of frontage on Shelter Island Sound and a 140-foot dock. The property’s interior living space spans 14,000 sq. ft. across three discrete residences, with the main house measuring in at 6,550 sq. ft.
The main residence was built in 1902, and is a classic Hamptons ‘summer cottage’, a rambling and eccentric presence amid romantic gardens, lawns and forest. Its interiors are designed in a casual but literate style, with water tones and cottage elements. The house’s ocean-facing side features a large terrace and a full-width screened porch.
Augmenting up the main house are the secondary residences. The pair of guest houses includes a two-bedroom, four-bath and a four-bedroom, three-bath. Between the homes: a gym, a sports court, and a Gunite pool.
