The Beverly Hills mansion of Bling Empire’s Anna Shay found a new buyer this summer. The arms industry heiress accepted an offer of $13.85 million for the 1926-built Spanish-style. The property appeared on the market in February of this year with an asking price of $16 million.
The little estate is a gem—the 8,677 sq. ft. hacienda is perched on 1.14 acres of verdant grounds; a large expanse of palm-dotted lawn is the backdrop for the detail-rich house, with gardens positioned artfully as supporting players. A porte-cochere with separate entrance and exit portals hides the home’s recessed entry, a romantic prologue.
In the foyer, the period tone is firmly established with a hexagonal tile floor, a curving staircase, a second-floor overlook and fountain in hand-painted blue-and-white tile. The step down living room features an arched ceiling, arched French doors, a large picture window, wall niches, and more geometric tile.
As the home progresses, the period details accumulate: milled plaster, stenciled ceiling timber, a variety of window shapes. The kitchen is an L-shaped space, with a long galley section and a brick stove surround. Outdoor living spaces include a number of balconies which look out over the grounds, where a guest house completes the accommodations.
