Music industry titan David Geffen picked up this modern below Trousdale Estates in the far-flung days of spring, 2019, presumably as an investment. The producer and impresario purchased the 1948-built residence for $4.65 million, and sold it quietly toward the end of June this year for $6 million on the nose, according to Dirt.

The home’s more interesting details tend toward the playfully cerebral, with unexpected lines and geometric surprises brightening many of the spaces. A few good examples: the kitchen island, which features an offset cooktop, the roof extension that covers a section of the upper deck, and the angular plank-clad bath.

The views from the deck and terrace are superb. Down the hill, the pool and sunlounge are enhanced by a lengthy build-in bench, with the master bedroom given the advantage of opening through sliding glass onto this primary outdoor amenity.

Geffen’s notable transaction in the real estate market include the sale of his Malibu compound for $85 million in 2017. In 2020, he sold a historic estate in Beverly Hills to Jeff Bezos for $165 million. He subsequently plunked down $62 million for a notable architectural, also in the 90210.

Geffen’s net worth is north of $10 billion, according to Forbes.
