Meghan Trainor purchased a new residence in Encino earlier this year and listed another in Toluca Lake. The singer spent $6.55 million on the inbox property this winter, while the one in Trainor’s outbox went up for sale in May with a $5.95 million asking price.

She didn’t have to wait very long for an acceptable offer, though. This month, actress Julie Bowen stepped up with the full ask to take ownership of the 7,174 sq. ft. home. Bowen recently completed a sale herself, parting with her L.A. modern for $3.9 million.

The house dates to 1936, and was originally the carriage house on Bing Crosby’s estate. A recent renovation has reimagined the rustic guest cottage as a modern farmhouse, and the square footage measurement suggests it was expanded in the bargain.

The design of this house includes vaulted ceilings, with the shared spaces culminating in a living room with exposed trussing. A freestanding floor-to-ceiling accent wall inset with a two-sided gas fireplace breaks up this central living area nicely. New wide-plank hardwood and steel-framed doors and windows have also been added.

The guest cottages on the property bring the accommodations count to five bedrooms. Fruit trees, a rectangular stretch of lawn, and a pool occupy much of the backyard.
