Actress Kate Hudson stepped out of her thespian shoes at the behest of Infiniti to make an appearance this year as the ambassador of a mid-size model: the QX60 SUV, which will be refreshed and in dealerships late this year.

For 2022, the QX60 gets a slick little promotional film starring Hudson to introduce it. Infiniti is betting the A-list association will help the model’s U.S.—and probably global—sales figures. Women account for the lion’s share of luxury SUV sales, so the strategy is particularly astute. In addition, the company is carefully positioning the model for the Chinese marketplace, with in-country production of a specific iteration for domestic sales set to begin next year.

The QX60’s abundant interior space—it can comfortably fit two rows of passengers in addition to the co-pilot seat—makes it a natural as a family car. The model’s brush-up emphasizes creature comforts, with a plush, tech-driven interior. But the QX60 also receives a 9-speed transmission in the upcoming model year, as well as optional Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and ProPilot Assist with navigation.
