BMW’s new 4-Series Gran Coupe packs a lot of performance into a daily driver. The company unveiled the 2022 model variants last month, along with key details. The 4-Series entry will be offered in 430i and M440i xDrive versions.
In front of the 2022 4-Series Gran Coupe cars, the new BMW grille is made more conspicuous by way of a new ‘hexagonal mesh structure’; in back a glossy black diffuser gets most of the attention, with the ports for the ‘free form exhaust’ hiding within, while the slim-line taillights echo the narrowed headlight design. Side air vents add to the performance style of the 4-Series Gran Coupe.
As expected, the 430i is outfitted with the automaker’s 2.0L inline 4-cylinder engine, and the M440i xDrive comes with the 3.0L inline 6-cylinder; the 430i’s engine is capable of producing 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque; the M440i xDrive’s can deliver 382 hp and 369 lb-ft. Performance features include standard M Sport Differential and a stiffer chassis.
Inside the cabin, BMW’s Live Cockpit Professional system is standard, linking the automaker’s Intelligent Personal Assistant feature and remote upgrades with Android- and Apple-brand services. Pricing begins at $45,795.
