PGA Tour regular and 2011 Masters champ Charl Schwartzel saw his Palm Beach property into the Florida sunset recently. The golf pro sold the six-bedroom, nine-bath home in Palm Beach Gardens for $9.85 million. He listed it in September of last year with a $10.4 million asking price.
The 2015-built home sits on a 1.04-acre lot. The architecture hints at modern Balinese designs. The façade is extended with a porte-cochere supported by stone pilasters, while a series of peaks in the roofline suggests the ‘connected compartment’ feel within. Entry is accomplished through double doors, and after crossing a water feature.
The living spaces are contemporary, though; no hint of Caribbean or South Seas inspiration aside from the layout, with a neutral tones, flat finishes, metallic flourishes, linear fireplaces, and moody atmospherics by way of abundant LED accent lighting. Amenities include a game room with a climate-controlled wine display, a gym, an indoor putting green, and an indoor/outdoor entertainment space with a summer kitchen and a full-length bar.
The backyard is partially occupied by a pool—colorfully lit by LED lighting and an LED-backlit waterfall installation.
