Last spring, a renovated period-piece residence in Hollywood Hills was purchased by actors Diane Kruger and Norman Reedus. The couple is turning the property around this summer, and they’re asking $9.25 million. The pricing may indicate a desire for a quick sale; given current market conditions, they just might get it.
Built into a hillside, the castle-like residence shows two levels at its street entrance, but blossoms into four as the gradient drops, and the back of the home expands into a broad array of windows, with balconies, a trio of diminutive gable dormers, and an outer wall turret broadening the scope of the stylized architecture.
Steel-framed windows and doors have been added liberally to the home, including the entrance, which has been glassed in; a small solarium is an unusual entryway enhancement. In the shared living spaces, revisions have brought a warm neutrality to the living style, with natural-stained wood and white walls and ceilings giving an uncluttered, refined feel to the interiors. Custom tile and contemporary fireplace accent walls add complexity. The staircase is a treat—unpretentious, but marvelously graceful.
Indoor amenities in the 7,732 sq. ft. house include a music studio and a screening room. Outside, the recreational suite includes a lawn inset with a saltwater pool and spa, a basketball court, and a tiled outdoor living area with a grill, cooler, sink and pizza oven.
Kruger stars in the upcoming action spy film The 355 alongside Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Penélope Cruz, and Bingbing Fan.
Reedus’ upcoming projects include a spin-off series of The Walking Dead, where he is set to reprise his role as Daryl.
