A matched set for the jet set. To accommodate a special client, esteemed British automaker Bentley’s Design Services division joined up with Dutch firm Contest Yachts to develop a surf’n’turf duo: a V8-powered Continental GT and a 59 CS sloop, which have been customized to mirror each other inside and out.
Of the two blue rovers, it’s hard to tell which one might take the blue ribbon for looks. The yacht’s lines are an incredibly refined mix of traditional and modern. It was given an ocean-blue color scheme, which aligns with the sapphire blue of the eye-wateringly beautiful Continental GT.
Inside the craft, the interior colors and materials of the Continental GT come into view: leather in Hotspur red and beige. The diamond quilting of the Continental’s cabin is also present in the yacht; Contest’s craftspeople worked it into the yacht’s paneling, and it pops up throughout the interior.
This isn’t the first time in recent memory that a luxury landlubber-mariner combo has appeared. The ongoing Mercedes-AMG cigarette boat duos include a Project One-themed set, and in 2017 a matching Lamborghini Aventador and 52-foot speedboat set came up for sale in Florida. Tecnomar’s Lamborghini Sian-inspired boat registers in the same vein.
