Jaguar rolled out its 2022 F-Type performance sports just in time for summer. For the upcoming model year, the automaker will no longer produce the model with lesser engines. The inline 4 and V6 are consigned to the dustbin.

In P450 configuration, the top sport sedan will only be made with the company’s 5.0L supercharged V8, which delivers up to 444 horsepower, although the racer in the lineup, the F-Type R, brings the power rating of the engine to 575. The R-designation also receives all-wheel drive and an 8-9 speed automatic transmission. Jag claims ‘zero lag’ for the standard, and even better response for the R.

For 2022, the F-Type will continue to be made in both hard- and drop-top configurations. Jaguar outfitted the siblings with 380mm front, 376mm rear brakes with a Torque Vectoring by Braking system for the new model year. The company also gave them a new exhaust system — Switchable Active Sports Exhaust — for sonic cosmetics.  The car’s performance profile can be altered through Configurable Dynamics; Adaptive Dynamics auto-compensates for conditions on the fly.

Jaguar is taking orders for the 2022 F-Type now. The series is base stickered at $71,050.
